Rating: 2.5/5
The film follows the story of Mohit (played by Ayushmann Khurrana), who is a B-School topper who is on a steady climb of the corporate ladder. He falls in love with Mayera (played by Sonam Kapoor) and hell breaks loose when he desperately tries to impress her father Sehgal (played by Rishi Kapoor). Now Sehgal is this stereotypical patriarchal retired government officer who puts Mohit on a probation to find out if he makes enough money to fulfill his spoilt daughter’s demands and wishes.
That is when the recession hits and Mohit ends up loosing his job. Laughter riot ensues as he tries desperately to win over his future father-in-law.
While all this is fine and so are the performances; it is a blatant rip-off of the popular Hollywood film Meet The Parents. Though the writer Habib Faisal came up with a fresh and entertaining screenplay, it still brings a sense of Deja Vu.
The onscreen chemistry between the lead pair makes the movie worth watching. Rishi Kapoor also makes it a worth watch.
Overall Verdict: A good film to watch on a boring weekend.
